Week in Review

I have had a fabulous week and it has come to a close with the celebration of Alli's 18th birthday.  She is an amazing girl and has great adventures planned for her future.  Can't wait to see how it all plays out.  But grab your favorite cuppa and lets review the creative part of this past week!

My Artistic Adventure & A Contest

 The CTMH convention in June was a great celebration, good overdose of inspiration, and a fabulous connection with awesome people!  You can see the video in this post.   And you can win a WOTG of your choice from the new idea book when you "find me" and comment on the time stamp.  Kind of like a Where's Waldo!  And one photo to end the week of me at convention.

And who will join me next year for this fabulous adventure!  I promise CTMH and I will spoil you!

I almost missed it!

Tonight I was at the farmer's market after a busy day with my girls.  I almost missed my post but I want to share with you the cards we made Friday night at the 20 Card Marathon.  It was so much fun!  Excuse the photo quality...love the ideas.

Used the Chevron Embossing Folder (new in the Annual Expressions!) and then sanded to expose the white core.  Then I sponged on some Hollyhock pin to add a two tone look to the texture.

One of my standard cards created with the stamp set from the Artiste Cricut Collection.  I adore cupcakes!

Skylark: Beautiful for all occasions.

As we start the two final weeks of the Spring 2014 Idea Book, I wanted to share some photos of the Skylark paper packet.  As a reminder, we will also be saying goodbye to this set of gorgeous set of papers.  I have used them for beach scrapbook pages, home décor, and of course cards.  I love the versatility.  Have you used the Skylark paper packet?  If so, I would love to see a photo of your artwork.

Costa Rica: Skylark Classic scrapbook page with Picture My Life

I received this beautiful layout in a swap with some of the Costa Rica earners.  These women are talented!  I love how this layout uses both the paper packet and the Skylark Picture My Life set.   The individual cards are great as journaling blocks and photo mats.  The designs coordinate perfectly and the rounded corners add a simple interest to the page.

It's Hip and it's for Mother's Day

Close to My Heart has created one of the easiest mini albums.  Just add photos, a little personal touch with scraps, and your sentiments to mom for a picture perfect tribute. 

The Hip Pic Album is mini album fits 4x6 photos.  You can decorate the cover to suit your mom and then add photos inside as shown in the video.  So easy.

Pocket Album: Pura Vida Style

As an earner of the Close to My Heart Costa Rica Trip, I was able to participate is a Secret Sister Swap during the trip.  I was spoiled rotten by my secret sister (who happened to also be the one I was gifting).  Her name is Kimberly Deines from Colorado and this is the lovely Pocket Album she created for me.  Can't wait to highlight the special events and memories from the trip in this book.

The cover was created using the Skylark paper packet and Framework Alphabet.  Below, she used a card from the Balloon Ride Picture My Life set as well as cuts from the Artbooking Cricut Cartridge.

The stamps she used were a gift we were given as earners of the Costa Rica Land Tour.  Pura Vida means "pure life" and is a common greeting and expression in Costa Rica. 

These pockets have cards from the Surf's Up Picture My Life kit.

When you purchase this album, every page includes a pocket.  Kim covered some of these pockets to create a more traditional album page. Above she added 4x6 flip flaps on the right for more photo space.  Below, she created a tag with one of the cards from the Balloon Ride Picture My Life Kit.  You can also see that she used a mini flip flap.

I am in Love with Skylark

Skylark is a gorgeous new paper packet by Close to My Heart and I love everything I have seen created with it and have been creating with it pretty much non-stop since mine arrived...need to order some more...and it is less than two weeks old. 

What I enjoy is highlighting the different elements that are printed on the paper itself.  As I work with it, I only have to add a little embellishment or stamping to create something new and fresh. 

Here's a piece of decor I made using the CTMH new pendant frame.  I was inspired by Christina E and her team project. 

I added a burlap flower which I learned how make it by watching this video by Jayma M., another  consultant.  I love how people share their talents.
