Hearts for Haiti

My blogging time was sparse last week so hopefully I can share some new and fun ideas and thoughts with you this week.

But first, I want to recognize that many of us have been watching the devastation that has taken place in Haiti two weeks ago.  Some of us may even know someone who has been directly affected by this tragedy.  Close to My Heart has been watching too and has opened up an opportunity for you to share your heart.

"Our hearts go out to the victims of the earthquake in Haiti, and like so many of you, we’re eager to help. We’re excited to announce Close To My Heart’s February Constant Campaign, Hearts for Haiti—where customers can get a great deal while doing great good for those affected by the devastation in Haiti."

From February 1-28, 2010, our 12” x 12” textured cardstock combo packs are buy one, get one FREE—and with every offer purchased, Close To My Heart will donate $2 US to Operation Smile’s Haiti relief efforts.   Close to My Heart has been a donating a portion of their profits from every stamp set purchased to Operation Smile for several years.  This is an additional charitable donation to go directly to the Operations Smile's work in Haiti.

Watch my blog throughout this month for fabulous ways to use textured cardstock in your artwork.  You can order your textured cardstock on my website or by contacting me directly.

Family Birthday Book

Ever forgotten a birthday?  Keeping track of birthdays can be hard sometimes.  This small 3 ring binder with a page for each month is beautiful and functional.  Created using the Veranda Level 1 paper packet, My Creations 3 Ring Binder, Antique Copper Mini Medley, and Today's Date Acrylic, Confidential, and Save the Date Acrylix stamp sets.  The lettering on the cover is from the stickease included in the kit and is used throughout for more embellishing.

Create this 5x7 mini book with me on Saturday February 6th at 3 p.m.  The cost for all the supplies is $25 (includes shipping and tax).  Order your kit by January 28th (contact me to RSVP for workshop) to assure its arrival!  If you are not able to make it to the workshop, when you order the supplies, I will send you the cutting guide to create your own book.  I am looking forward to filling my book with birthdays...and hopefully this will help me be less forgetful.

Spring Idea Book Preview Part #2

You Rock is the name of one of the new paper packets featured in the spring 2010 Idea book. My first look at this paper was WOW! I wasn't sure how/if I would use it. Then, New Years Eve came and I was inspired. It was the first time my husband's four college roommates and their families were all together. It was so much fun! And, we all played Rock Band...for hours. Don't you think a few of these photos will look great on these papers! Don't have them yet but when I do, you will see my results!

Spring Idea Book Preview Part 1

If you haven't had a chance to view the idea book online or in hand, then take a minute or hour to enjoy the refreshing view of spring.  Once again, beautiful new paper packets, wonderful embellishments, lower prices on "A" size stamp sets, charming stamp of the month choices, and much more.

My first opportunity to use product from the new book was to play with Veranda.  The soft colors are rejuvenating and with antique copper embellishments, this paper is elegant!  I plan to use Veranda for my workshops during the first weekend of February.  Order your products for this workshop in January!
