Last weekend I hosted a Sip & See tea party for my customers and their friends to introduce the new Spring Summer 2012 idea book. I was fun to transform my crop room into a “Tea Room” and treat everyone to a sit down tea. My daughter was the server and everyone enjoyed themselves as they shopped and sipped. It was a success!

Below are the photos of the invitations, the small treat everyone received and the entire room. I was sad that I was so busy I did did not take any photos of the guests! What was I thinking? I will post more this week about the decorations I made.

The heart treat box is made from the new Lucy paper packet and the Art Philosophy Cricut Cartridge. The flowers are also cut from the cartridge and then stamped with coordinating stamps from the Hooray Bouquet and Lucy workshop on the go set. So much fun!

Studio J Photo Editing

Studio J has a photo editing tool built right in. You can edit your photos in the photo “library” after you upload them or after you have placed them on your layout. This month we will work with this tool during our Studio J workshop. Join me on Monday Feb 13th, 7 p.m. to learn about the photo editing, “practice” with some guidance, and then crop until 9:30 p.m. Bring your laptop with photos uploaded or on a disc or drive and I will get you hooked up to WIFI.

It’s a girl!

Yes, both of my children are girls. Pink was a major color group in my laundry sorting for many years. Then there was a bit of a revolt but now it seems to be coming back…in a variety of shades from reddish pink and even pink/orange colors. (In close to my heart terms that is tulip and sorbet!)

I love this video…it helps solve a challenge that I often have because many of my customers have all boys…and my girly stuff just doesn’t cut it. Watch this video and begin to think out of the box with your stamp sets. I am looking forward to taking on the challenge!

I made these personalized cards for the people attending my fall scrapbooking retreat. I was inspired by Lisa Stenz. She has a clean and simple look to her art that I am drawn to.

I used the Typeface alphabet stamp set (which is in the Spring/Summer Idea Book!) and Unscripted stamp set. The colors are pacifica, honey and cocoa. I wrapped them with envelopes and a simple bow. Easy and elegant.

What do you do when you are homebound?

Many people have been posting their cooking and baking tasks they have done while they are home in the snow. What do you do when you are homebound? I have been resisting the urge to bake because that means I then have to resist the urge to eat. So…I can make cupcakes and enjoy them differently.

I used the Art Philosophy Cricut cartridge and coordinating stamp set to make this cupcake. Added some “stardust glitter gel” sprinkles and Yum! The paper is from Roxie with a zip strip from the paper as well.

This card is for the Sultan Senior card workshop (cancelled this week but hopefully on schedule for next week). I mixed the Elemental paper with Roxie and some solids. A fresh look of spring. The focal stamped piece is from the Art Philosophy Cricut cartridge and included stamp set. Love the Cricut!

I know I am a bit late…been really busy getting the kids back to school, two crops last week, a Idea Book walk through yesterday with a fun group of ladies and a Studio J appointment today. I scheduled many different appointments and events while I was “taking a break” in December. Now I am off and rolling and loving every minute of it!

Here’s a bit of artwork I have done as well:

Happy Sweet 16 to Martha. One of the best New Year’s Eves ever was 16 years ago when I got to be present for her birth. The first card is the one I gave her, the second is a replica. I ran out of the pleated ribbon so I made my own with vineyard berry card stock. Does this card look familiar? My inspiration was on page 17 of the Fall/Winter 2011 Idea Book.

The Typeset paper packet will be available through the Spring/Summer 2012 Idea Book which goes live February 1st. (That is another post!) But the pleated ribbon will be retiring January 31st.

A teenage milestone

This is the story:

Certain that she would never go to a high school dance, Alli had plans for a movie night with friends for Homecoming. With only one week before the dance, she received a text, asking her if she wanted to go with Thomas. She said yes!

Dress shopping began immediately and came up dry on the first round. Martha and Alli were then dropped off at the Ross’ in Redmond while we attended a birthday party for Ric Gray. As they tried on dresses, texted photos, and received the thumbs up or down by the entire group (Yosts, Quiggs, and Gray’s), they found the top three. I then joined them and Alli tried them on again and we found the perfect dress.

Of course, we had a few alterations; adding “color” using some ribbon Ruth had on hand and some ribbon straps to keep everything in place. Because I was going to be at the women’s retreat, I set up an appointment for Alli to have her hair done with Marti at noon.

Paula and I drove home from Whidbey Island to see both girls off to the dance, take photos, and enjoy a teenage milestone. Then back to the women’s retreat we went while Alli and Martha, in separate parties were off for a fun evening.

National Papercrafter’s month is just around the corner. (January 2012.) In celebration, Close to My Heart has done it again! Rock the Block stamp set with the My Creations Block set.

I started by coloring each edge of each block with cocoa ink. If your paper pieces are just a tiny bit small, the white really sticks out. I used Roxie paper to cover one side of each block as a “title” page but before I cut it in 2x2 squares, I used the stamp set to add style.

Then I took 6x6 photos, cut them into 2x2 squares, and using the memories bonding glue to attach each square to the cube. One cute face at a time.

Twist and turn each block to put together the face of a family member. I think the kids are going to have lots of fun with this. I am also excited to see how other consultants will use the blocks. They are quite a creative bunch.
The set of blocks will be in the Spring/Summer 2012 idea book but you will be able to get them beginning Dec 19 through Jan 31st along with the “E” size stamp set shown at the top. The stamp set if for the special only.

Hers & Mine: A little secret

Many people comment on the ideas that I share in workshops and on my blog. Where do they come from? Well, I am going to share my secret with you.

Close to My Heart is a generous community of fabulously creative people…including the founder of the company, Jeanette, herself. As a consultant, I have access to an artwork bulletin board where people share their creations. Close to My Heart also has these great “how to” books and the semi annual idea books, chalked full of wonderful artwork. And, then there are blogs…and lots of them. So many consultants share what they have created, their techniques, inspiration, and awesome artwork using the products we love. I review many different blogs and of course have my favorite. The secret is….I copy them. Yes I said it, the secret is, I copy them!

Jeanette, our company founder, has a blog and each week, she shares a creative technique. This past week she shared the technique of tone on tone color. You can see her blog here. I loved her demo card knew it would make the perfect card for a special friend’s birthday, so I copied her!

Now about copying. Some call it scraplifting or stamplifting, others call it their “source of inspiration” but to take it down to the elementary level, lets just say…as a kid might….I am a copycat. And I am proud of it!
A few important things you need to know about this secret. First of all, when you do copy, it is a common courtesy to give credit to the person you copied from. It is even better if you can link back to the source. And, keep your copying to items for personal use. Take your appreciation even further and leave a comment or email a note, letting the creator know you love their artwork!

Mad About You: December Stamp of the Month

I have had the opportunity to play with the December stamp of the month and I am loving it. It makes a fun stationery set of circle notecards. I used a Laughing Cow cheese box and then cut round cards on my Cricut to fit inside. Using the "how to" book for cards, "Wishes", I created four cards to go inside. I used the papers from Sonoma and a pewter mini medley set for embellishments. You can make this notecard set as well at a workshop in January. Santa's Workshop

For the past few years, I have done a workshop where my friends' kids can come to create small gifts for teachers, grandparents, neighbors and their friends. These little elves, believe it or not, are mostly boys. Since I have two girls, it is great fun to get to watch the creative processes of these guys. Well, this year, the workshop will be open again this weekend. (If you are in the Bothell, WA area and want to attend, email me for more information).

An Awesome Ride

My husband earned an awesome trip to Banff with his company. Part of the reward was the opportunity to choose from different activities. We chose white water rafting along with many others from the group. Our guide Martin made the trip wonderful as we hit the white water on the Kananaskis River running from a glacier. We were fully suited in gear and still got soaked. At the end of the trip, we had the opportunity to jump in the water. Well, I did it and then immediately was pulled back into the boat. It was freezing! But that ride was awesome.

Dreamin’ paper packet is versatile. This is just one of the many creations I have made using this paper. “Water” is made using the Trinity alphabet. The lowercase letters come in three different sizes in one stamp set. Also very versatile.

Mini Album Madness

I love creating mini albums. They are fast, simple, easy and oh so satisfying. I made this album from the 6x6 Kraft card set. The scalloped edges add a soft touch to the kraft texture. We invited the “F” Family to join us at our cabin during Labor Day weekend. It was so fun to “play” with their family on the lake. This album is for them to keep and write their memories.

Make it a calendar! These Studio J pages were created with the intention of using both pages of each layout to create a calendar. I have printed these and will attach them to the Close to My Heart 12x12 calendar. As Thanksgiving approaches, I created these cards for the senior center workshop. I have to say, my senior group does not like to cut out images. This has been a challenge for me because I often create a card with an image cut out. The Cricut has saved me! I am able to create cards with more interest and design but with ease in assembly! Here are two of the cards we created last month!

Retreat Results

That’s a funny way of say “look what I made.” Last weekend was the scrapbook retreat I host on Whidbey Island. I think I need to change the name…I did very little scrapbooking but I created many different projects. It was so much fun!
Here is my favorite project and I like it even better now that it is hung in my home.

To create this banner, I used the CTMH My Creations Banner, distressed colonial white cardstock with a woodgrain background stamp (the name is not coming to me right now), and cut the letters from the Cricut.

A Thanksgiving Card using the Dreamin’ paper packet, Harvest Happiness stamp set and the stamp of the month. The great thing is that the leaves and the tickets are cut on the Cricut! Cut the leaves and ticket, stamp image on the shape, and attach to the card.

Our Friend Brandon

Throughout my daughters' elementary years, there was a boy who they went to school with who had a brain tumor. When my youngest was in 5th grade, he was experiencing his third recurrence of the tumor. The lessons learned by the students that year were beyond academic. Brandon included his class mates in his gift of serving others, experiencing cancer in the open, and desiring to be present whenever possible. We all learn invaluable lessons. It was a honor to be included and a part of his life.

This layout is about the quilt the class made for Brandon and gave to me in January 2010, just three months before he passed away.

His mother has started Brandon's Goal Foundation with the mission to find a cure for pediatric cancers. Our family continues to volunteer for events and fundraisers and it is such a blessing to work toward the goal of helping children like Brandon.

I really like the Typeset Complements which are adhesive back canvas shapes and images. The texture is so rich. In the journal section above, I plan to write the words my daughter put on the square she made for Brandon's quilt. Yes, you can write on the embellishments.

I have had this vision of creating these cards that remind me of the crystal blue days in the winter. We don't get many days like that here, but over at our cabin on the east side of the mountains, we experience them more often.

Although I was inspired by many different people, these two had put my vision onto paper. Irresistibles

These chipboard embellishments have a resist pattern that shows through when covered with ink, chalk, markers, or watercolors. My favorite way to color them is with a sponge and ink. I think the child in me comes out when I see the resist magically appear! They are so much fun. In addition to the numbers, you can find Irresistible Ecletic Alphabet. I used those in my title here.

New in the Fall/Winter Idea book is the Make It Count numbers. I have used them here to celebrate my nephew's birthday. In addition to the numbers, you can find Irresistible Ecletic Alphabet. I used those here.

I also used the new clear 14 inch ruler with guide holes to create the faux stitching on the card. The ruler also has a metal staight edge for craft knife cutting and 1 inch grid marks. This is a must have tool in your papercrafting kit.

Convention is one of the great benefits I love about being a Close to My Heart Consultant. This year it was held in Disney to I took the fam! They went to the park while I was at the meetings. It seems strange that I would "miss" Disney for convention but really it was worth every minute. I did get to go to the park one evening and well...that is another story. Can you say Autopia? Anyway, because I wasn't with my family and I am the family photographer, the photos of the events while I was absent, are nil. But here is what I have to share.

A Year in Cards Workshop October 7th.

It is so handy to have a card on hand that is perfect for the month or season! Using the special
Pair-a-phrase set, I was inspired by Jen Rubio's event calendar workshop to create these 4x4 cards. A little water coloring with a blending pen (very therapeutic) and some black embellishments and you will create a beautiful card set. You may even want to give it as a gift...or just keep it for yourself.

Join me for a workshop to create this set of cards. Friday October 7th , you can come and create between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m. The workshop is $15. Add a blending pen or archival black ink pad to use the water coloring technique at home. RSVP by October 5th.

Medieval Night & Hidden Journaling

In August, Jeff and I went to Banff as a reward trip from his company. We stayed at the Banff Springs Hotel. Yes, the one that looks like a castle in the middle of the mountains. (More scrapbooking about the hotel will come.) Our first evening began with a Medieval Dinner in the Mt. Stephen Hall which has high ceiling with oak beams, stone floor, and cathedral window with stained-glass crests that look out to the beautiful Rocky Mountains of Canada.

The meal was complete with a "Shoretel King and Queen", moments for some in the stocks, soup slurping and some good medieval fun and jokes.

As I was creating the page, I realized I had little room left for journaling so I used the Limited Edition, September Stamp of the Month and created hidden journaling behind the photo of my knight! The last photo shows how I created a "pocket" for the tag to slide in and out without getting lost behind the photo. Love our 3-D foam tape just for this purpose!

The Old World alphabet was perfect for my title.

I used the Art Philosophy cricut cartridge to cut flourishes to accent the pages. Then I added mocha opaques for a little more texture.

Double-sided adhesive foam tape firmly holds your embellishments in place, elevates photos and focal point images for more depth and makes a great "pocket" for hidden journaling tags. . Cut as much as you need from the roll. (2 rolls per package, 3/8" and 1/4" widths, 77 inches per roll.

Dreamin' Cards & New paper packs

The new paper packet Dreamin' has fall colors with the addition of blue that is just right for many different occasions. I started with a fall theme but I look forward to also sharing my Medieval Night, White Water Rafting and Disney scrapbook pages also done in Dreamin'.

I created these cards using the Art Philosophy Cricut cartridge, the tags and borders set that is included with the cartridge and the Harvest Happiness Stamp Set. (C1463). My inspiration came from one of my favorite artists (retired CTMH consultant) Nona Davenport. She creates and sells these awesome templates that you can purchase for $5. (She also knits and sews and is a mom and.....). If you need more information on how to get the products to go with her template, you can contact me and I can set you up!

A couple of things I love about the new CTMH products!

1. Less cutting out of stamped images! The AP cartridge does it for you and makes it so easy to create beautiful cards when you pair the stamp set with the cricut images. Faster, simpler, easier and don't forget, beautiful!

2. The paper packets are more affordable and flexible than before. For $9.95, you get six sheets of cardstock background and texture paper (B&T). You also get six completely different designs! And they have added colored cardstock to replace the neutral white or colonial white. More color for your money!

3. Because the B&T is now cardstock weight, it can be used as a base for a scrapbook page or card! If you are using a "how to book" from CTMH, just swap the B&T cuts with the solid cardstock cuts and you get a whole new look to your crafting. (If you don't understand this, just ask me.)

4. Finally, enjoy the cards and watch the calendar below for workshops where you can create these and other projects as well!

Remember the Mischief?

Well combine a grapevine wreath, inspiration from Aaron Brown, and ART (the CTMH cricut cartridge) and you can have another home decoration for the fall season. Although I think Aaron's wreath is a bit smaller, this is what I had on hand (purchased at a tent sale for $1) and so I used it! This is the second option for the October papercraft workshop. Watch the calendar at the end of my blog for the dates and details. Can't make the posted date? Why not get a bunch of friends together and schedule a date for your own personal workshop. It is so much fun to play together.

Getting into Mischief

Update October 12th: Linking up with Someday Crafts today!

One of the new paper packets is called "Mischief". At first glance, it seems perfect for Halloween. That it is. But thinking outside of the box, it is also great for heirloom photos, fall events and even graduation. So far, I have been sticking to the Halloween theme and have been have lots of fun.

My first project was this witch's hat. It was a paper mache hat from the "other Michael's". I covered it and then decorated it with rolled roses and flourishes from ART. Then to add a little sparkle, I used our new silver glitz glitter gel and bling assortment. I am thrilled with how it turned out and it will be the project for our October Papercraft workshop. Where oh where have I been?

Vacation! Many different places, time with my family near and far, and just enjoying the summer weather we finally have! But I am back and looking forward to sharing so many new ideas, workshops, and products with you.
This post is about ART (what I am now calling the CTMH cricut cartridge) which was scheduled to post earlier in the month and didn't. So please enjoy while I get my future posts set and share some great things with you.

By the time this posts, I will have my Art Philosophy Cricut cartridge in hand and the reason I a pre-scheduling posts...well, I will be too busy playing to do any posting! Sneak a Peek at a New Paper Packet

One of my favorite parts of convention is the create and take. This is when we get to play with new product and take home the sample of art we created. One of the new paper packets is called Roxie and we made a "10 things" layout using a library pocket, "10 things" stamp set, bling assortment, red ribbon collection and cricut cut dies to stamp on. I am ordering photos for this layout but couldn't wait to show you!

The Bling assortment includes the rhinestone buttons and hat pins.

The library pocket comes blank with the 10 numbered strips so you can personalize for your artwork.

One the way home from the airport Saturday night, I asked Jeff what the temperature was outside and he said it read "you are not in California anymore." Yes, California was beautiful, Disney was fabulous, and convention was incredible. The girls drove the cars of Autotopia endlessly! It was the favorite. Birds and Birdhouses speak summer to me!

I had an opportunity to be away by myself a week ago for about three days. Besides painting the bathroom at our cabin, I took a couple of stamp sets that I had yet to even open and use. I took inks, cutting tools, papers, adhesive, foam tape, sponge and blocks. I also had a catalog with me. It all fit nicely in a small basket. No embellishments, no how to books, and no access to a store! It was a great challenge to "use what I have." Close to My Heart made it easy!

I started by perusing the catalog and then using some of the cards as a jumping off point using my paper and stamps. Here is what I came up with using "Bless this Nest" and Mayberry Workshop on the go.

It is hard to tell in the photo but I pleated the paper on the right side of the images.

I hope you enjoyed a fabulous 4th of July with your family and friends. They say that summer comes after the 4th of July in Seattle and it even came with some sunshine for the entire weekend this year. I am soaking up and enjoying every minute of it.

Sporting her first swimsuit and ready for the sprinkler, this is some summer fun and excitement here!

This cutie is my niece Esther. She just turned one last month. Although I have not gifted it yet, I made this banner for her room.

I saw this video from Close to My Heart using the Dreams Come True stamp set. I love this set. I immediately started to create the banner after watching the how to video.

The flourish so pretty to use where ever you need a little "something" on a card or scrapbook page.

Even though the weather isn't cooperating, I am looking for finding pieces of summer to celebrate the season. Here is my first Summer Find. I love this stamp set that Close to My Heart has called Trees & Things stamp set. The images remind me of a summer to remember, hammocks, tire swing, rope ladders and lanterns.

At our team time last night, our team swap was with the Fanfare Paper packet. These ladies did an amazing job creating with the paper and summer stamp sets! Tracie made a card...very cute but didn't make it in my swap pile. Tracie, do you have a photo you can share?

Feeling a little like Jonah, up from the whale

I feel like since June 1st I have been swallowed up in the Whale of the "last" this, "graduation" that and "final" event. But, that is what I love to be able to do as a stay at home mom or in reality "never at home." Today was the completion of most of the "lasts" that I was a significant participant in, therefore, I feel like Jonah, spit up on the beach from the belly of the whale. Ahhh!

The great part is that I have tapped into the creative options I have and made items for the different celebrations. Now time to share one of them with you!

These are the center pieces for the PTA volunteer celebration. I used the Fanfare paper packet and stickease to create pinwheels and flags. Fun and festive. After the event, they were given away in a drawing so some of the volunteers got to take them home!

Where to start with Studio J?

You may be wondering how to even get started. Here are two tutorials about getting started with Studio J. One is published by CTMH and the other by Amy Ulen, a CTMH independent consultant. This information is applicable to Studio J on my website as well.

Free Studio J JPG File during the month of June!

Simply log on to Studio J, create a layout, then order one JPG file of your layout during the checkout process. It's as easy as that! If you don't have an account, you can go to my website and create an account and then order your free JPG file as well.   Your free JPG will include one low resolution jpg of the double page layout, and two high resolution layouts, one of each individual page.

So what can you do with a Studio J JPG file? Besides having the opportunity to learn more about how your scrapbooking can be faster, simpler and easier with Studio J, think about this!

1. Share your photos and memories with your friends by emailing the JPG, posting it on your blog and or facebook. Everyone will love to see what you have created!

2. Print the JPG in 12x12 and add it to your personal scrapbook. Although the color quality may be a bit different when the layout is printed by another company, they will still be beautiful and you can enjoy your layouts in full size!

5. The most IMPORTANT thing you can do with a high resolution jpeg of your layouts is to burn a couple of cd/dvd copies and store them offsite.  With any complete Studio J layout, when you purchase the print of the layout from CTMH you also receive the three JPG's as part of your purchase. Or, you can purchase just the JPG's as well. In the wake of all the tornadoes, flooding, and fires, storing JPG's on a disc off site, assures that your memories and photos are safe.

So much to celebrate this month!

First of all, I welcomed three new downline to my team! I am looking forward to working with Lalia, Tina, and DeAnn as they begin their consultantship with CTMH. They have so much to look forward to! I am blessed to have them as part of the Evergreen Memories Team.

Second, my ninth anniversary with CTMH was in April. Life was so busy, I didn't get to celebrate it with you. So, since this is my birthday month, I thought I would just celebrate BIG! And look forward to sharing the celebration with you. Details coming to your inbox about my Studio Sale and celebration.

Third, it is Studio J Free For All month. Home from a great retreat and Studio J Spotlight

In January, I hosted a team challenge and one of the rewards was a mini retreat at our cabin for those who earned 1000 points. Well, three of the girls really dove in and met that challenge. I was so proud of them and this weekend I got to treat them to a great time together scrapbooking, stamping, laughing, and just enjoying being away. Crockpot Recipe: Chicken Cacciatore

Fix it and forget it! These kind of recipes are great for crop days. No worries about dinner when you get home. I have been doing the "family test" for a few recipes and will share them periodically so you will have some ideas of "what's for dinner" on those days when all you really want to do is scrapbook! From Weightwatcers.com.

Slow Cooker Chicken Cacciatore
1 lb. skinless chicken thighs, cut into bite size pieces (I used skinless chicken breast)
1 cup fresh, frozen or canned mushrooms (I used 2 cups fresh...we are a mushroom loving family)
1 cup fresh or frozen sliced green peppers (I like em but nobody else in the fam does so I omitted these)
1 cup fresh or frozen onions, chopped
1 medium garlic clove minced
1 TBSP canned tomato paste (I added a second one ...just couldn't leave the extra in the can)
14 1/2 ounce crushed tomatoes, fire-roasted (I didn't have the fire roasted but wish I did)
1/4 cup dry red wine (no wine in the house so used chicken broth to make up the liquid difference)
3/4 tsp dried oregano
3/4 tsp table salt, divided
1/4 tsp black pepper

Place chicken in a 3 to 5 quart slow cooker. Add mushrooms, green pepper, onion, garlic tomato paste, tomatoes with juice, wine, oregano, 1/2 tsp of salt, and black pepper. Cover and cook on high heat for 5-6 hours or low heat for 6-8 hours. Taste just before serving and add remaining 1/4 tsp of salt if needed. Yields 1 cup per serving. (four servings, 5 ww points per serving). I served mine over rice. And, they ate it up! (Well all except on family member who has very particular taste buds and opted for a can of chili?)

Finished scrapbooking 2008! Taking Advantage of the Specials

I loved the Studio J special in February. I went back to photos that I had not yet printed or scrapped in 2008 used Studio J to finish up the year. Through out the month, I also watch some videos created by Amy Ulen who does a great job of using Studio J to take her online layouts to the next level and best of all, she shares it with us. You can find her videos here on her YouTube channel. Thanks Amy!

March Stamp of the Month & Easter "Basket"

Target's $1 section is tempting to peruse and when they started caring Valentine items (the day after Christmas), I found these handled boxes. Many of them had pre-printed hearts on them but I went through the bin and found a few that were white and kraft without any printing! I struck gold! How fun to alter them with our stamp of the month and create Easter Baskets.

Take a look at what I created and then let me know if you want to make one,or maybe a couple, at my workshop on March 29th 7 p.m. Workshop fee is $10 and includes a blending pen to take home for future projects. Miracle is Back

Last year, one of the Close to My Heart specials was a kit called Miracle. It included the fresh colors of sweet leaf green, crystal blue, heavenly blue, and bamboo. The special kit has been expanded to a full My Reflections scrapbook kit including more patterned paper and stickease. These are a couple of the pages we will create during the March 5th scrapbook workshop. (You can see past Miracle artwork here.)

The color ready Kraft Borders are a new product that are highlighted in the workshop. In addition, I will show you how to create a pleated "ribbon" of cardstock and the pinwheel from the Miracle stamp set. . See details below.

Some of the page details, pleated paper, pinwheels and woven border.

Weaving in an 1/8" in piece of cardstock to add color and design. It is best to leave the sticky backing on when doing this and then add your own adhesive to adhere to the paper. I used tombow.

Look how many you get in a package! Two of 25 different designs for a total of 50 borders for $5.95. Use them on scrapbook pages, cards, and another other paper craft item. They are self adhesive too!
