Just a personal note

Life has kept me pretty busy this fall.  I love it and I love the two girls that keep me going everyday, sometimes to sheer exhaustion.  Here's some shots that give you and idea of what I am "creating" when I am not playing with paper, Cricut and  embellishments.

A teen girl:  Alli goes to homecoming.

A soccer player:  Marissa plays for the Eagles.

A Halloween Fairy Princess:  Marissa dresses for the holiday

An equestrian:  Alli rides Mariah at Fall 4-H Show

Lots of events and memories to scrapbook.  Hope you are having a great fall!

Pat is a wonderful woman who loves to garden and decorate her home with flowers and anything else she can clip from nature.  The banner is for her fall décor.  This one is for you Pat!

I have made the following three cards using this set.  Notice I used the same card pattern from the how to books but the focal point is rotated.  I love the card patterns as they are easy to use and offer endless possibilities.  Just start turning and twisting and see what you come up with.

October Team Card Swap

Every month, my local team gets together for "Team Time".  This is such a fun time for me!  We usually do project led by someone as well as swapping cards with a predetermined theme.  Of course we talk a little business and catch up on each other's lives as well.
Here are the swap cards from our last meeting.  Not just cards either.  Some home decor as well as treat ideas.

Our Friend Brandon

Throughout my daughters' elementary years, there was a boy who they went to school with who had a brain tumor.  When my youngest was in 5th grade, he was experiencing his third recurrence of the tumor.  The lessons learned by the students that year were beyond academic.  Brandon included his class mates in his gift of serving others, experiencing cancer in the open, and desiring to be present whenever possible.  We all learn invaluable lessons.  It was a honor to be included and a part of his life.

This layout is about the quilt the class made for Brandon and gave to me in January 2010, just three months before he passed away.

His mother has started Brandon's Goal Foundation with the mission to find a cure for pediatric cancers.  Our family continues to volunteer for events and fundraisers and it is such a blessing to work toward the goal of helping children like Brandon.

I really like the Typeset Complements which are adhesive back canvas shapes and images.  The texture is so rich.  In the journal section above, I plan to write the words my daughter put on the square she made for Brandon's quilt.  Yes, you can write on the embellishments.

Wonderland Card Class: Tue, October 18, 7:00pm – 9:30pm Two spaces left

I have had this vision of creating these cards that remind me of the crystal blue days in the winter.  We don't get many days like that here, but over at our cabin on the east side of the mountains, we experience them more often.

Fish Lake frozen enough to walk on.

After looking at many different creations by other talented consultants including Diane Tuggle and LeAnne Dudley, I sat down last night and began creating.  Although I was inspired by many different people, these two had put my vision onto paper.  So with a little bit of time, creative juices, and lots of fun, I have finally created the card class I plan to teach this month.  Tue, October 18, 7:00pm – 9:30pm

Create 12 cards full of bling using the Wonderland paper packet and Top Coats. I have two spaces left.  Contact me ASAP if you would like to attend.  Workshop fee: $25
